B Complex with Metafolin and Intrinsic factor – Douglas Labs

B Complex with Metafolin and Intrinsic factor - Douglas Labs

with Metafolin ® and Intrinsic Factor
DESCRIPTION
B complex with Metafolin, methylcobalamin B12 and intrinsic factor is a unique formula. It contains a chemical form of folate or folic acid having the ability to pass through the brain barrier. On the other hand, methylcobalamin is a coenzyme form of vitamin B12, which is stored and is better used by the body. Intrinsic factor is secreted by the stomach cells and is responsible for facilitating the conversion of vitamin B12 into a chemical easily absorbed in intestine.
FUNCTIONS
The B vitamins are fully related to metabolism. These vitamins play an important role in the release of energy, including the metabolism of lipids, carbohydrates and proteins. The B vitamins are also involved in physiological functions related to blood cells, hormones and nervous system function. Such vitamins are water soluble (with the exception of vitamin B-12) thus not stored in the body naturally, so we need to reach the daily requirements to avoid unnecessary suffering vitamin deficiencies.
The body needs an adequate supply of B vitamins. Thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2) and niacin (B3) are essential in the production of energy. Thiamine is rapidly converted to thiamine pyrophosphate, which is required for the reactions directly associated with energy production. Thiamine is also related to the conduction of nerve impulses.
Riboflavin is an essential component that enhances the absorption of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Niacin assists in energy metabolism of the cell and also facilitates DNA repair. Vitamin B3 can help eliminate toxins stored by the body.
Vitamin B-6 or pyridoxine is a coenzyme that assists in the metabolism of amino acids. It is necessary for the metabolism of homocysteine and helps convert tryptophan to niacin. Methylcobalamin and folic acid are coenzymes of DNA and RNA metabolism. Biotin and pantothenic acid are also essential for the production of energy from the coenzym
